“Children and Art”

In 2014, I won a contest of sorts called the “Sondheim Remix,” in which participants were asked to make an original adaptation of a song from Sunday in the Park with George. The winners of the contest would get to perform their song live for Stephen Sondheim at City Center prior to a performance of Tick, Tick... Boom! Here is my version of “Children and Art” that I was honored to get to play for Sondheim. The great man wrote to me afterwards and told me the song moved him to tears. One of the proudest moments of my life.
